Medieval Badrapts — the Pillar of Cleanliness!

In the Middle Ages, cities were systematically organized in terms of their structure. In particular, badraps (city gates) were not merely entry and exit points but were also responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and order of the city.
Household waste and refuse from within the city were taken to the outskirts — specifically to the area near the badraps. During that period, badraps also served as waste collection points. This demonstrates that medieval cities placed great importance on hygiene and urban order. In other words, cleanliness is not just a modern requirement but a manifestation of culture inherited from our ancestors!
